Chinese Polychrome Dragon Vase Lamp with Custom Silk Shade250€
This lamp was created from a Chinese export vase, dating from the mid-20th century, with bold polychrome enamel decoration in relief. The vase is decorated with a continuous scene of dragons and figures in procession, rendered in vivid tones of turquoise, green, black, and cream against a terracotta ground. The raised outlines give the surface a tactile, almost cloisonné-like quality, bringing depth and movement to the imagery.
This lamp began life as a ceramic vase, later adapted into a functional light. The body is decorated in relief with a dragon and figures, painted in enamel colours over a terracotta ground. The conversion has been carefully updated with new wiring and a custom silk shade, made by Maison Gazelles in Brussels.
The top rim of the vase was broken at some point in its history, but the repair is stable and not visible when the shade is in place. The lamp is in good condition overall, with surface wear consistent with age.
