Marcellus Aubry Coffee Cups with Leaf Saucers50€
Set of four stoneware coffee cups with their original leaf-shaped saucers, handmade by Belgian ceramist Marcellus Aubry in Bouffioulx, circa 1950s–60s. Each piece is finished in dark brown and charcoal glazes with natural variations from the firing process, typical of Aubry’s studio work. The cups and saucers are incised with the maker’s mark to the base.
Marcellus Aubry (1909–1982) worked in Bouffioulx, a village with a long tradition of stoneware production. Building on the legacy of his father Edgard, he developed a style that combined traditional techniques with the organic forms and textured surfaces that characterised mid-century Belgian ceramics. His tableware and decorative objects remain sought after for their sculptural qualities and artisanal character.
