Space Age “Moon” LampSOLD
This vintage table lamp dates from the 1980s. It features a spherical orange shade made from ribbed plastic, held within a chrome ring and mounted on a matching base. The shade is made of curved fins that let the light through in a soft, diffused way.
When switched on, it gives off a warm, ambient glow. The globe can be rotated gently within the chrome frame to slightly adjust the light direction. Even when not lit, it stands out as a sculptural and decorative piece. Its playful yet bold design makes it suitable for modern, eclectic or retro interiors.
Although unmarked, the lamp is clearly in the style of pieces by Kare Design and other well-known brands of the time. It has been tested and is in good working order. The condition is very good, with only minor wear from age.
This lamp works well on a sideboard, desk or shelf, and can add character to a room without overwhelming it. A distinctive and well-preserved example of late twentieth-century lighting that is both functional and decorative.
